Public knitting contributions laid out for sorting

Bless the NGA for their Flickr site with photographs as I'm really feeling the tyranny of distance. I really want to be there NOW watching as the pieces are assembled and wrapped. I'm traveling down on Friday so I'll be there Saturday to wander around and wrap myself up in the experience. I'm (w)rapt already. In fact, I found quite a substantial amount of leftover wool from the project, even after I made myself a hat to wear with the piece so now I'm rapidly knitting a moss stitch scarf to wear with the hat to wear to the exhibit to be photographed near if that's the stage things are at.
How absolutely thrilling :)

It's a lot of fun Sue. The public were asked to send in panels knitted to certain size specifications. The 'Knitta' group-a kind of guerrilla knitting as graffiti group- are going to be wrapping all the grey concrete poles around the gallery, including the 6 big ones at the entrance. We're going down from Orange for a 50th birthday so are planning to 'do' the gallery and check out the soft sculpture exhibition while we're there.

Congrats to you! I'm not surprised as your piece looked great. What exactly are they doing with these pieces.
